Amica at Barrie, an elite retirement facility, reached out to Senior Wish Association to see if we could grant a special wish for one of their residents.

Ø  GLORIA’s WISH is to do the Edge Walk atop the CN Tower to mark her 88th birthday.

Ø  Kempenfelt Bay School in Innisfil, a long-time supporter of Senior Wish, raised money to help make this wish come true.

Ø  Gloria, Laura Wright and Karissa Boyce, all from Amica at Barrie, along with representatives from the Senior Wish Association attended a special school assembly so students, faculty and parents could meet and celebrate Gloria and the partnership between Amica at Barrie and Senior Wish that has led to this wish grant.

Ø  One by one the poems and letters of good wishes and inspiration written by the students, were read out loud and presented to Gloria as keepsakes.

Ø  A cheque presentation for the money raised by the students was made to Senior Wish.

Ø  On Monday, May 28th, 2018 at 11:00 am Gloria, her Life Enrichment Coordinator, Karissa Boyce and Amica at Barrie Director of Marketing, Laura Wright braved the Edge Walk.

Ø  Media, students, Senior Wish and residents from Amica at Barrie celebrated with Gloria as she entered a luxurious Limo Bus provided by Summerbound/Ace Transportation from Collingwood, ON.
